General documents - 13th EU-Singapore Inter-Parliamentary Meeting, 7-8 December 2023 - Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)

From 7 October to 8 December 2023, the Delegation for the relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the ASEAN (DASE), led by MEP Daniel Caspary (EPP, DE), paid a visit to Singapore, a key partner of the European Union. The European Parliament Delegation had a variety of meetings, including with the Speaker, the Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Education, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and other top government representatives.

The Delegation had several direct contacts with the rich Singaporean society, such as meetings with academics on Southeast Asian security challenges, with the highest authorities in the country on Urban Redevelopment and on Group Business of Development and with many NGOs.

This mission is a further step in the EP dialogue with Singapore, following the 12th official Inter-Parliamentary Meeting that had to take place online last year in Brussels.
