European Parliament and ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) held the 3rd Inter-Regional EP-AIPA Dialogue Meeting in Strasbourg on 21-22 November. European Parliament was represented by the Delegation for relations with Southeast Asia and ASEAN (DASE), chaired by DASE Chair Daniel Caspary, and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), represented by delegations from the parliaments of Lao PDR, current AIPA Presidency, Cambodia and Indonesia. AIPA delegation was lead by MP Sanya Praseuth, National Assembly of Lao PDR. The Inter-regional Dialogue Meeting agreed on next steps in further developing the dialogues and discussed matters of common interest in economic, trade and investment cooperation and global and regional security challenges. Next Inter-regional dialogue is foreseen to take place during the 45th AIPA General Assembly in Vientiane in October 2024.
